Earthquake Engineering

Taught by Lauren Cage & Erin Salter

Earthquake safety is a major concern for building in California. How would you build a structure to withstand an earthquake? Work in design teams to construct parts of a city that can can survive a turn on the earthquake table. Put the parts together to see how the complete city fares!

Make-HER workshops are open to girls aged 8 - 12 and their mothers (or other adult female mentors). Our #LadyMaker educators have designed content specifically for this age group. Therefore the workshops are not appropriate for those under age eight, please no younger siblings. You may cancel up to 48 hours in advance through this site. Those who do not show without cancellation will be prevented from registering for subsequent Make-HER workshops.

Each workshop requires a separate registration. Each registration reserves spots for both you and your daughter. If you have more than one daughter aged 8-12, please complete only ONE registration, put both daughters' first names in the name field, and list the younger daughter's age when asked. Please do not register friends for this mother/daughter program.
